I left one day earlier on July 7th to fly to Salt Lake City to catch my original flight to Valdosta, Georgia. I had to wait like seven hours in Salt Lake City. I just hung out at the airport, reading, looking at people, walking, and eating some little snacks. It was not that bad... There was a family which I noticed holding some posters. They were waiting for an Elder who was coming home from his mission in the Ukraine. They waited for a long time, until around midnight! He never came so I guess he must have missed his flight home. Sad... At 5:00 in the morning of July 8th, I finally checked in. I was so happy to be on my way to Georgia! It took forever! The airport in Atlanta was so bad! Almost all of the flights like mine were delayed! I finally arrived in Valdosta, Georgia two hours late. It was GREAT to see Laiel and Dusty! I was so happy to be back in Georgia. I really missed it. After we got my baggage, we drove right to a city called Thomasville because Dusty and Laiel had something to take care of. Then we had dinner at a place called Zaxby's which was my first time to eat southern food. It was good. Then we went back to Valdosta. I got to meet Dusty's parents, Joe and Anita. It was definitely a long day but a good one!
On July 9th, we went bike riding on the Azalea City Trail. It was fun bike riding and seeing places around Valdosta and seeing how green it was. We even rode on the spiral sidewalk and onto the bridge which was the funnest part. We also went for a swim at the pool at Laiel's apartment. After we were done, we went back to Dusty's parent's house and had some dinner and then watched a movie with them.
On July 10th, we drove down to the Inhetucknee River in Florida. We tubed and snorkeled in the river. It was a good time! There were a lot of tiny and big fish in the river. We also got to see birds and turtles! After we were done tubing and snorkeling in the river, we went up to the Blue Hole which was close to the Inchtucknee River. The Blue Hole is definitely cool! I could see the blue ring in the spring when we saw the spring. We even swam close to it and across it. I had to hold Laiel's hand because I was afraid that I would be sucked down into the Blue Hole! Ha! :) But now, I am not afraid of the hole. It was a pretty cool hole to look at. It is 40 feet deep! No one can touch the bottom except if you have special equipment to go down there. We also went to another tiny hole which was right next to the Inchetucknee River.
On July 11th, Laiel and I went to her bridal shower. It was a nice party. I gave her a gift that starts with the letter "L". It was a long black sign that says, "Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much". After the party, Dusty came over and we just hung out. Then we went to a couple of stores. I learned something new and it's funny. While we were walking inside the Toys'R'us store, Laiel was pointing at the blue carts and asked me what I thought that the southern people called them. So I was like what!? and just told her carts. Laiel told me, "No, it's buggy." Laiel asked me to ask Dusty what they were. So I asked Dusty while pointing to the carts what they were. He smiled and told me 'buggy'. I just laughed! :)
On July 12th, we just went to church and had lunch at Joe and Anita's house. Then we hung out at Laiel's apartment for the rest of the day. Dusty and Laiel worked on writing thank-you cards on gifts that they had received. Dusty also played with the knitting machine that they got. I just worked on my puzzles and made some origami from a book that I got from Laiel and Dusty for my birthday (along with some other things.)
On July 13th, Laiel had to work so I spend most of the morning at Laiel's apartment then that afternoon, I hung out with Dusty. We just went to a Pet Smart Store to see the animals, went to Hobby Lobby which I found out was a craft store, played the game Phase 10 which Dusty beat me at, and went on a scooter riding around Valdosta. After riding, Laiel was finally off from work and we just hung out at the house and had dinner. Then we went shopping at the Valdosta Mall for Family Home Evening, went to the Marble Slab which is the same as Cold Stone for treats, and watched a movie at Laiel's apartment.
On July 14th, we didn't do much in the morning. We just went to Valdosta State University to do what Laiel needed to do. Then we went to a place called Chick-fil-a which is another southern food place for lunch. After lunch, Laiel and I got to go out with the Sister Missionaries to see a deaf girl in a small city. The Sister Missionaries were happy to see us at church on Sunday. They wanted us to see the deaf girl and talk to her to find out more things about her. But we didn't get to see the deaf girl. After it, we went to a lady's house and chatted for a bit. That old lady's father was a slave which I just thought was pretty cool. Then we finally went back to Valdosta and they treated us to some drinks from Sonic which was definitely nice of them. Laiel and I went over to Joe and Anita's house and played Pictionary which is definitely a fun game. We girls won the game! Oh yeah! :)
On July 15th, Laiel had to work again which was her last day of working there. I just hung out at the apartment and went for a swim at the pool. Then hung out with Dusty and his mom for the afternoon at the house and then went shopping at stores. I finally found a pair of cute clothes to wear. When we were getting out of a parking lot, we heard a LOUD noise right next to Dusty's Jeep. Dusty's mom and I were scared! I thought the noise was from a car. Later, I found out that I was wrong and found that the noise was the thunder. Definitely scary! It rained a lot in Georgia, almost everyday. Joe and Anita invited us to dine with them for their wedding anniversary which was very nice of them. We went to the Texas Roadhouse which was pretty good.
On July 16th, we drove down to St. George Island which is in Florida at the Gulf of Mexico. It was a nice day at the beach. We just enjoyed being at the beach. I tried skim boarding but that didn't work that well. Maybe I'll try it again another time!
Click the picture so to see the details of the sidewalk! You can see shells and seahorse, pretty cool!?
Running away from the birds!
We gave them more chips for some more bird attacks! Fun!
On July 19th, I flew back home to Nevada. BOO! I had an AWESOME time in Georgia! I hope I will be able to go back there one day.... Or move there! Ha! :)
I had a great time in Georgia! I had a lot of laughs! I had fun spending time with Laiel and Dusty. It was great getting to know Dusty a little more. I absolutely love Dusty's parents... They are just awesome people!!! They did some funny things sometimes! :D I will definitely remember those awesome memories of my time in Georgia. Thanks so much for the awesome vacation that I had! :D
